what we did today

Today in literacy we described 2 minutes of a boys nightmare which some of us found challenging, but it was fun. Also today we did PSHE and that was all about stereotypes and don't judge a book by it's cover. We got into groups of 3-4 people and we had to think of an assumption, then we did a tally chart on our whiteboards and see if it was a stereotype of not.

We have also got a jar of compliments (which is new), and whenever somebody gives somebody else a compliment and Miss Mellor or Mr Aiston hears it we are aloud to put a stone in the jar. But when someone says something or does something unkind we have to take a stone out. On the other hand if we fill the jar we are aloud to have a treat. We call the compliment 'pick me ups' and we call the unkind things 'put me downs'.

  4. Hello Alysha and Jessica,

Your seem to have had a great learning day. I was particularly interested in the jar of compliments. It's such a good idea. Everyone can see the 'pick me ups' grow.

Have you noticed sometimes people don't realise they are using 'put me downs'? The jar can show them and help them create more ups. :)
